saflkmp fisj piiaj This blogging site looks amazing. They are just adding a new cool map feature which was the only thing I didn't like about it. Woohooooo! I will add more text to see what shape it does.
Christmas has hit Stanmore! Actually, before I go into that I have to do the week in order, or I will get muddled and confused.
On monday and tuesday I taught, which was entirely uneventful. On wednesday I had the day off, but nothing seemed to go right and I ended up getting out a whole load of awful chick flicks from the video shop for a dollar each, and not really enjoying them at all. On thursday I worked a shift for the cross city tunnel and sold lots of beep tags.
On thursday night I got an
email from my boss saying that she wanted to give me a raise to $24p/h for the fonezone work, because I'd done such a good job. Then 20 minutes later I got an email from the cct boss, saying that all my work up until christmas has been cancelled (about 20 shifts), because the cross city tunnel people are wankers. They've decided

saflkmp fisj piiaj not to bother promoting anything until after christmas, because people are just abusing the field staff and ignoring everything we say. So that's 60 people cut loose without jobs right at christmas time! At first I was very annoyed, but then I applied for 3 other jobs before bed.
On friday it was my birthday and I was 22, which is too old. I got a few calls from relatives, and then calls for interviews from all the jobs i'd stupidly applied for the night before. So I spent my bday morning wearing a suit and doing job interview stuff, and then went and had pancakes with strawberries, and went to mum's for dinner. She made about 5 different veggie dishes, which were just wonderful, and a chocolate mud cake for desert! It was totally awesome, and Andy bought me this cd by a Romanian group called Mahala Rai Banda (which means "noble band from the ghetto"), who are TOTALLY AMAZING! It's sort of gypsy-ish funk-ish jazz, with singing and even some rapping, all in Romanian. And most of it was recorded at a christening party! Oh, I love it so much. And all the other wonderful things people

saflkmp fisj piiaj bought me, especially my snuggly-warm sleeping bag from mrstupidhead. I can sleep anywhere now, so he will have to be nice to me.
Then, after a much better shift for fonezone yesterday with beautiful models and lots of signups, mum and I went to the last SSO concert in the series. It was just awesome.
( Here we are on the balcony outside the back concert hall foyer. )
The music was Stravinsky’s Firebird Suite, followed by Shostakovich’s 11th Symphony- both were inspired by the Russian revolution, so there was lots of dramatic brass and percussion, so loud that the people in the front row who had fallen asleep kept getting blasted awake on the sudden loud bits. At the end there were 5 separate going-off-then-coming-back-for-a-bow’s (don’t know what they’re called) from the conductor, and my arms are still killing from the clapping. When he had all the soloists stand up there was pretty mediocre applause, all except for the wonderful timpanist who had people shouting “bravo” and standing for him.
Because I’m now a mostly-unemployed bum, I had today off. It was soooo cool to be able to sleep in and listen to the rain outside, and spend a Sunday with mrstupidhead. We just lounged all day, and put up the Christmas tree, and listened to some seasonal (ie very bad) music. The day in pictures:
I know some of the pictures are dodgy- I was learning to use the timer on my camera and stupid head kept tricking me into getting up to check it at exactly the wrong moment- the photos with us actually in them were so rare that i had to keep some very odd ones. I also had the problem that whenever i asked tom to take any pictures of me, i invariably ended up with pictures of only my boobs or bum. I'm going to try and erase those before I show mum the pics tomorrow!
I ended the day today by talking to my dad on the phone (because he didn't really call me for my birthday, so i called him back), and he said that Alice, my 7 year old sister, has gone vegetarian, has spent months begging to get pet mice, and wants to stick photos on her bedroom walls "like louise has". How mad- someone thinks i'm cool! I don't know if it's safe for 7 year olds to be vegetarian though, i'll have to ask stupid head.

Ha!
So, on saturday I worked at parramatta on this stupid fonezone promotion, where we were supposed to sign up hundreds of telstra prepaid people to some stupid rewards program they have. And I was the super-dooper team leader, the boss of 3 stupid un-proactive dickheads who were supposed to hand out all the brochures and sign up the hundreds of people, while I drove around. As it turned out the 3 un-proactive dickheads were so un-proactive that i had to park the buggy and stand right next to them and do thier work for them. And still, I had to go into fonezone at the end of the day and report the fantastic results of the program.
FONEZONE MANAGER: So how did the promotion go today?
LOU: Well, we decided to concentrate on educating people about the rewards program rather than signing them up.
FONEZONE MANAGER: That sounds great. So how many signups did you get?
LOU: *awkward silence*
LOU: Err... none, actually.
*lou runs away*
I thought i would be SO dead when my boss got my report today. But as it turns out, we were mystery shopped by my boss's boss on saturday! And she secretly took video footage of us, and kept a tally of what we did for a whole hour. So instead, my boss got in trouble for the crap support team, and got praised for her brilliant choice of team leader (ie. me!). She just sent me an email to let me know that I handed out as many brochures as the 3 dickheads put together, even though it wasn't even my job. Yay! And the 3 dicks are not getting any more shifts, and I will get beautiful shiny models from an agency. Woohoo! I need to write this sort of thing on livejournal because otherwise I forget it in a few weeks. It's the first time that anyone from the company has ever said anything that really made me feel good about the work i'd done. Usually I just feel downtrodden, soul-destroyed and exhausted. So hooray for hidden cameras!
In other news, yesterday stupid head and I went to visit my mum, who was as usual beautiful, kind and 100%!s(MISSING)elfless. She is being bullied by the principal at her work, purely because every other teacher on the staff loves her and the principal is jealous. She is one of those teachers who changes people's lives, and who is constantly visited by previous students who want to thank her. I try to teach in a similar way, because she's honestly the BEST teacher i've ever seen. The principal's bullying is backfiring slighly, in that my mum told another teacher what had upset her and in no time the whole staff knew about it and were all on my mum's side, so the principal has no friends. It just makes me want to go up there and punch the stupid woman! Leave my mum alone, you stupid bitch!
And then we went to Amali's house for dinner, to farewell Rachel. Stupid head and I both had a fun time- it was just a good night where everyone got along and we caught up and had a laugh. And there was sticky date pudding! What a lovely way to spend a sunday night. Amali was onto something when she thought up this civilised "dinner" idea. 😊
