Some friends (and work colleagues) were visiting from London, so we took a day trip to the south coast - in search of some sea, surf and a kangaroo sighting. We'd heard that Pebbly Beach was a good place to see them (although we've been there before, and didn't see any that time, so were careful to manage expectations). We arrived and laid out our picnic, only to be 'be-friended' by two rather scary looking kanagroos! They're vicious looking up close - and one seemed to delight in flexing his (long) claws. After they'd helped themselves to a sandwich we retreated in haste - although not before Simon was engaged in a boxing match with one of them who was determined that we hand over our bag of crisps too!
