Here I am, sitting in a breakfast nook in a motel in Kentucky at 6:30 in the morning, trying to get this blog to work. We've uploaded some pictures, but nothing seems to work. Hopefully, this will!

We ended-up leaving later than planned on Friday, around 6:00 p.m. and drove for a few hours, telling ourselves that at least, we would start on Saturday morning already across the border. True to our tradition, we had supper at Dysart's. It just wouldn't be a roadtrip without it.

On Saturday morning, we had a few stops to make. First, the grocery store. We always start a roadtrip with a visit to the grocery store to stock up on snacks and drinks. In Kittery, we stopped at Robert's for lunch. Yum! Then, we hit the road again and drove until Mike could not drive anymore, around 10:00 p.m. We had decided to drive as much as possible on the first few days to be able to slow down once we reached areas we had never visited.

Sunday morning, we drove until Maryland where we stopped for lunch around 1:00 p.m. in a little spot called the Crabby Pig, where they specialize in... softshell crabs and smoked pork. We couldn't resist and both had the pulled pork sandwich. Mmm! Now, we're Down South! Again, drive, drive, drive! With good music and great company, it's not so bad! And here we are now in Kentucky. And guess where we had supper? No, it wasn't Kentucky Fried Chicken! We found a Ponderosa Steakhouse. I know, unusual choice. But Mike has been mourning the loss of this childhood memory laden restaurant in Fredericton for a year, and when I saw it, I though... oh, no! He's gonna want to go to the Ponderosa! We're in Kentucky. There must be something more interesting than a Ponderosa! Ha! Ha! But... I couldn't take that away from him. So we went. He had the chopped steak. Like he always does. I just went for the salad bar. Vegetables are a good thing on a roadtrip! Hopefully, you'll see the pictures I am going to upload.

Until tomorrow...

Cheers!

Bon voyage sur les routes d'Amérique!
Vous voilà partis à l'aventure! Profitez de ces longues heures de route pour méditer sur les moyens de déjouer les machines à sous des casinos de Vegas ;) Bonne route à vous deux!

Ponderosa!!!
It sounds like you two are seasoned travellers and that your adventure is off to a great start! I'm not familiar with Dysart's, but if I ever get there, I'll try it. Was surprised to hear you went to Ponderosa, :>) but I guess that's a place that just seemed to always be here . . . and then it was gone! Keeping you in prayer and looking forward to the next entry & photos in your blog.
