North Head Light
North Head Light on the Pacific Ocean at Ilwaco, WA Day 1 of a two day stretch of our first days of spring after a long cold, wet winter. It is to get in the upper 60s today and it is predicted that maybe 70 tomorrow, WAHOO!
What would of been a fantastic day to ride our Gold Wing has us riding in our new 2010 Ford Pickup, recovering from gallbladder surgery at the first of this month has us in 4 wheels for the adventure.
We headed West toward the Pacific Ocean (Long Beach to be Exact) on Hwy 12. We ate breakfast at a small diner in Aberdeen out by the mall I think it is called the Blue Heron, lots of good food for the money.
We traveled along the Long Beach Peninsula, heading North checking out rental houses and enjoying the beautiful sunny day. We stopped for lunch at probably the worst place we have every eating at and will not return there that is for sure. It is a very popular place during the Rod Run but I think everyone must just have pie and ice cream.
We turned and headed south towards Ilwaco to check out Cape Disappointment Lighthouse, they charge

Ilwaco, WA directing ships safely from the Columbia River and the Pacific Ocean. $5 now at the interpretive center (NOT worth the price) but if it helps keep the place open that is ok. North Head Light now has the keepers house for nightly rentals
