What to Pack?

The second most asked question we are asked when we tell people about our trip is what will you pack? (number one is what countries are you going to?) Thus, I thought I would discuss that for my second blog. Here is a list of what I packed all is pictured in the photo, except where noted:

2 shorts
2 merino wool long sleeve shirts
Rain pants
Rain Jacket
3 pairs of socks
3 underwear (they are exofficio travel underwear)
A journal
Uno - something to do on the bus
Dice - ditto
A deck of cards - ditto
A corkscrew and bottle opener
2 t-shirts
2 short sleeve travel button up shirts
2 long sleeve travel button up shirts
3 pants - two are travel pants the other are patagonia duck pants
A light jacket
A spanish verb book
A spanish grammar book
Lonely Planet Central America on a shoestring guidebook
Some tape
Two pens
A fork/spoon/knife camping thing
A messenger bag for day trips
A pack towel
Merino wool beanie - in case it gets cold
Light gloves - ditto
Merino wool buff
A brimmed straw hat
3 stuff sacks
Passport
First aid type kit - bandaids, imodium, etc.
Chaco's
Trail shoes
2 kleen kanteen's - one insulated
Passport
Camera (not pictured because I took the picture with it)

An umbrella (not pictured)
Bathroom supplies - toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, nailclippers, soap, chapstick, tweezers(note we are using bar soap for shampoo).

A button up casual shirt

Headlamp (not pictured)
A book to read and exchange at hostels (not pictured, not purchased yet either)
A surf shirt - I hope to learn and I'm told a surf shirt is nice to have.
Bugspray/wipes
Deodorant

Total weight: 25 lbs.

A few things to note: Amy is packing the computer which I will do the blog from and it is not pictured here. We are not bringing phones. Although this looks like a lot I actually have space in my pack to pick up a few extra things to bring back.
