We left Seattle around 1:30 and drove to Glacier, WA, battling the stop and go afternoon traffic that seems inevitable near any large city these days. Arrived at the Blue T Lodge just west of Glacier around 4:30 PM and checked in at the bar in the adjacent Chair 9 pizza restaurant. From the Hannegan Pass Trail. Ruth Mt. is at the head of the valley and the glacier and snowfield on it feed Ruth Creek that runs through the valley.

Though it doesn't look all that difficult, I assure you it was. That big sloping flat rock just before the snow, to the right of where the trail crosses the water, is covered with slick,wet gravelly mud. I slipped there and almost ended in the valley below.
