At the pike market fish place Off on the metro to downtown early this morning. Our mission was to get to Smith Tower early which we managed to accomplish. We were the first group of visitors up in the manually operated elevator for the day. Smith tower was built in 1914 and is 42 stories high although the elevator only goes to the 35th floor.
The buildIng is office space these days but the foyer and the observation deck are very nostalgic. Cost is only $7.50 for the ride up. It was a good clear sunny morning so we got plenty of great shots.
Next we walked along the waterfront on our way back to Pine Street to catch the monorail to Seattle Centre. The monorail is $4.50 for the round trip and only takes a couple of minutes to reach Seattle Centre.
Had a quick stop at the Pike Market Fish Place. Love watching the antics at this place.
The main attractions we wanted to see were Chihuly Garden and Glass And the space needle. Admission to Chihuly was $19 but honestly the art work was amazing. The artist "Chihuly" does amazing glass blowing. It was truly a sensory overload with so

Next we were off to visit the space needle for lunch at the revolving restaurant. We enjoyed a lovely lunch while taking in the views of Seattle. The restaurant is very popular and reservations are a must. Geoff and I both felt like a snooze after the meal!
We headed home around 4pm to start organising our gear for the cruise. We have 1 more day left in Seattle before heading off to Vancouver.
In the evening we went for a drive to Gasworks Park where we got some great night shots of the Seattle city skyline.
