Lee drove us and Nancy down to REI this morning, the Seattle equivalent of Mountain Equipment Co-op. The store is similar but larger and with a mountain bike test track around the lower level outside. We made some purchases and had lunch before leaving Nancy and heading downtown to the Seattle Science centre. The science centre seemed to be a similar era to the Toronto one but not quite as extensive. We watched the Imax movie about the Mount St. Helen volcano and the eruption that took place there. Next we moved to the butterfly conservatory where we soaked up the heat and humidity while butterflies fluttered past us. Seattle buses are weird at rush hour in that you have to pay to get off rather than when you get on. Fortunately, we found our way home and managed to afford to get off !
