Lexington, VALexington, VALexington, VA

Relaxing after our first day of driving:-)
Getting out of the DC-Metro traffic was a little crazy...once we got to the "open road"' the scenery was gorgeous. Lots of flowering trees and spring beginning to show it's colors.

Our first night was spent in Lexington, Virginia. The girls enjoyed swimming in the pool; we ordered pizza and hung out in the hotel room...watching Disney Channel (Phil of the Future). We drove through the quaint town of Lexington on our way out and saw Virginia Military Institute and Washington & Lee University. What a cool town. I have fond memories of going there with my friend, Mary Lackey (now Hernandez) every Mother's Day weekend to visit her grandmother. We were probably in the 5th or 6th grade and could walk all around the town by ourselves...it's such a neat little town, 5th or 6th graders could probably still do that today:-)

Approximate distance logged (from Vienna to Lexington): 184 miles
