What a week

So, we just set up our blog. We're ecstatic about our upcoming trip to the South Pacific. Over the past decade or so we've both been in school/residency/postdoc fellowship (and you've been wondering when the heck we'll be done!) and while indeed we've had our share of sh*ts and giggles, for the most part we've been waiting to really celebrate our 'freedom'! You know the 'we should start having kids' has crossed our minds so before we go down THAT road ... we wanted to cut loose first! So here it is. We are going on our dream vacation (for now!) - We've been planning for a while and now we have it set - Tahiti -> Moorea -> Bora Bora -> NEW ZEALAND!!!!! -> Australia!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

We wanted to start a blog so that we can keep in touch with all of you - who will will miss a lot (except when we're on the beach watching a sunset).
We'll try to keep it up ... but you know how lazy we are ;-)

After we're done, we'll be heading back to Miami where we will be relocating to starting in a week. Muy Caliente! Jon (who went to schoool with Quang) and Lisa, his wife and cool Canadian mother-to-be helped us celebrate our last days in DC. We had a 'tour de food' that was oh so good. I (Re) had a fun girls trip last weekend too. Ladies of ATL ... you rock! Maybe next time, we can wait 15 mins before pulling out the baby slideshows ;-) jk... you know I'll do the same later on. Ann , we missed ya.

Got some sad news about Marcy, my PhD advisor, when I returned to DC. She was an awesome person and someone I will always remember. Marcy who was just 47 yrs old, passed away after a brave battle with breast cancer. The thing about Marcy that is inspiring is what a great mom she was and her fantastic smile. I'll think about her when we're on our trip. She would have loved us this idea of keeping a blog journal.
