Sorry it has taken me 2 days to get this in but after all we did on Wednesday, I was way too tired to blog that night! We got up and had a fantastic breakfast at the B&B - stuffed French toast...incredible! After breakfast at 9:30 we headed east through the national park to go to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. My dog, Dez, and I love to watch Dogtown (it is filmed at Best Friends) on the National Geographic channel and when I realised I was going to be in the area I just had to go and see the place. It is a sanctuary for all kinds of animals - horses, donkeys, mules, goats, sheep, dogs, cats, rabbits, birds...all of which they care for with an aim to having them adopted. If they cannot be adopted these animals live out their lives in this amazing and loving place. We enjoyed the tour we were on of Angel Canyon where the sanctuary is located. After we left the sanctuary we started driving back to Zion but were distracted by the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. We started heading to that state park when we realised it was too far down this road and so we saw a small sign that said there was a spring 3 miles across the fields so we took it. We drove probably 2 miles along pure sand pathes and eventually I got paranoid enough about getting stuck in the sand in the middle of nowhere that we stopped, had lunch and then turned back. We got back to Zion at about 2 pm. We stopped back at the B&B and Ken had a bit of a nap and at about 4 pm we hopped on the park shuttle and were driven up the spectacular canyon. There are a number of stops that you can get off and back on at and so we did 2 small hikes - one up to Weeping Rocks where the water seeps through the sandstone and hanging gadens grow from the rocks and the other was a river walk along the Virgin River which is responsible for carving out this amazing canyon. The walks were lovely and the scenery stunning. We got back to the B&B and then headed out for some dinner. By the time we got back to the B&B it was close to 10 pm and I was so tired
