This is neat!
And "yes", there really is a place called "Virgin".... Having spent the night in a place called
"Hurricane"we were ready for Zion National Park.
We'd driven through it the night before, but had decided to rest up first before our visit. Our first stop however was a place called
"Virgin".
(There was a neat little fort there that we just had to visit.) Having taken photos, it was on to Zion.
Once there..... We had to park up at the visitors centre and take a bus into the canyon.
(Cars are not allowed to drive in the main canyon) This made things a bit difficult, what with having to carry water etc.
So off we went loaded up for the 90 minute tour of the canyon.
We were able to get off the bus to do some walking, but being in the low 100s -
It was hard work!!! (If you could cope with the heat, there were the usual trails that took hours to walk.) We discovered later that the photos we took were not that good, as the vast height of the mountains made it difficult to photograph.
The best
part of the visit however, was the ride up the canyon and through the tunnel.
The views were outstanding, but it was difficult to capture the vastness of it all.
After saying all that, we can still reccomend this park as a good place to visit.............
