from front porch I received a notice on local weather man that we might get some snow; with thousands of homes West of Tyler, Texas that lost power. This was a rare snow event for my neck of the woods in Nacogdoches County. This was about two degrees C, above the freezing point of water. It was fun having my winter wonderland with photo opps. The snow came down wet and heavy, sticking like glue to my conifer trees. Later I had fun shooting night pics of the snow.
Then I saw over fifty of my planted conifers bent over touching the ground with their tops. I acted by giving my affected trees a good shake to free them from the weight, and they rose up again. I only lost one tree that snapped from the snow. This would play out in the trees over the power lines across Nacogdoches County. I started my fireplace burning wood for heat. The electric power was gone from my area until the AM hours of January 13. Each night I placed a propane heater in my greenhouse to keep my tropical plants and producing pepper plants warm. It was about eight years since I had an

from front porch overnight power failure.
My portable generator is locked inside my home made shed cuz generators left in the open "grow legs and walk off". I have the generator grounded to a long iron steak in the ground to prevent a large static electricity shock to my body.
I recon that all's well that ends well.
