Friday morning we headed out of San Antonio for our homeward bound trip through the Hill Country of Texas. This is our normal route home as we love the beauty of the Hill Country as well as the great towns we travel through such as Fredericksburg and Luckenbach.
After grabbing a quick breakfast of yummy donuts from the HEB grocery store, we headed to Fredericksburg. Our first stop was one of our favorite shops, The Peach Haus. The shop has a huge supply of jellies, jams, syrups, etc and best of all, allows sampling of nearly every offering. We all loaded up on a delicious array of these including the ever popular Raspberry Chipotle sauce to pour over cream cheese.
Next was a quick trip to the legendary Luckenbach, which of course was made famous through the Willie Nelson/Waylon Jennings song. Had a great time showing Terry around and she especially loved the local ATM! Kenny was enthralled with the local cat which turned out to be part Bob Cat. The cat was really big and aggressive and Kenny kept on playing with it until the cat finally drew blood.
The Wildflower Farm in Fredericksburg was our next

Terry on the porch of the Post Office, General Store and Bar. stop, another favorite of ours. Gorgeous plants, pots, outdoor decor as well as more jams, jellies, salsas, etc to taste and purchase.
After a great lunch of Cheeseburgers ( Terry opted for the jalapeƱo burger) and Onion Strings at the oldest saloon in town, Honcho's, we began the long drive to Graham where we were to stay the night. The Holiday Inn Express in Graham turned out to be a nice little hotel with a great pool and hot tub.
Saturday morning we headed toward Altus and arrived in time to meet family and friends at Fred's Restaurant to celebrate Grandma Fern's 80th Birthday. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful trip!
