Thursday, June 11 was another "laid back" day. Dwain and I drove around the Cypress area so I could snap of few pictures of the various things that have captured our attention. Housing developments are in large "Communities" with their own name, retaining lakes, trails, pools, parks, golf courses and police deputy. The people in that community pay a fee to maintain all this and the landscaping around the area (not the individual homes). It works somewhat like our strata at Thom Creek. The big difference is the size of these communities. They range from several hundred homes to thousands of homes in a single community.

The other thing that has overwhelmed us is the amount of new construction happening in the Houston area - new roads; new shopping centers; new homes; new schools; new churches. It is obvious that the economy here is booming and jobs are plentiful so the place is growing.
