There is no-one to go out with on this cold spring night so I go it alone. A good ole American dive bar is the only option in these situations... hipster capital of the usa
by far san fransisco, check it out. also there's good beer in every us state. microbreweries are everywhere, it just took you that long to find out about them! it is very interesting to read your blog about your travels through the usa, considering how you've been almost EVERYWHERE. i think you are still traveling the states with too much of a preconceived notion, i can't say that i blame you though. all of those years with aussie media drilling negative stereotypes about the usa into your head is probably hard to undo.

Thanks for the comment Mike
I knew about the microbreweries for a while but there is only so much you can type about before boring people. I enjoyed Oregon beers when I had them in the east and heard people saying Oregon is the best so I figured microbreweries topic fitted well here. It's a bit hard yes to get away from the pre-conceived but that is very much still a part of the states as much as the unknown parts which I hope I have covered. I don't think my USA travels is the typical USA backpacker trip. I have been complimentary throughout my travels in regards to most Americans. I'm a fan don't worry Mike. Thanks for reading.
