I love Oklahoma for some reason I just really enjoy learning everything about the Indians. We went to the Five Civilized Tribes Museum in Muskogee today. It's a small museum and really inexpensive $2 but very informative. It tells the story of the five Tribes being Cherokee, Chickasaw, Creek, Seminole and Choctaw that were removed from the homes to Indian territory in Oklahoma in the 1800's. Their journey was known as the "Trail of Tears." These five tribes formed villages, farms and created a government thus the name "civilized." The art work and items shown in the museum were all created by local artisans.
