The night before departure

In less than 24 hours the journey begins. I am all packed into a duffal bag on wheels. Everything I need boils down to 43 pounds. I have an additional carry on camelback backpack so I can have sufficient water for the hot days ahead. Cathy, on the other hand, is still packing!

Our dining room is covered in clothes and wires; for her computer, cell phone and things I have never seen before. There are 5 pair of shoes, dresses, bathing suites, and more clothes than I think a person can wear in 14 days! I have learned a long time ago...say nothing. Eventually she will winnow it down to something manageable.

Tomorrow we depart Detroit and head to Toronto where we plan to watch the World Cup game before we depart for the overnight DIRECT flight to Athens. NOTE: If you ever go overseas search hard for the direct flight. Every time we go overseas and meet with a group that has had a stop over, there is always someone with lost luggage....especially if they fly through London. We have never lost a bag overseas but we have never not had a direct flight.
