waiting in line
Every year, my entire family spends a day at Cedar Point, and this year was no exception.

First off, we never pay full price for tickets. My niece found a Groupon deal at twenty bucks, quite a bargain! In previous years, we pre-purchased tickets at local Drug Marts.

After we enter the park, we rent a stroller for the day. We may not have a baby with us, but we do have beach bags with towels, swimsuits, sunscreen and bug spray, and some contraband water bottles and snacks. You are not supposed to bring food and drink into the park, but we sneak it in and have never been caught. The food is pricey and low in quality at the Point, so having snacks on hand is a good idea. Letting the stroller carry the load seems to work for us.

We enjoy the day riding all the many rides. There is literally something for everyone here. The teens ride the thrilling coasters, the adults ride a bit of everything, and the younger kids ride some of the medium rides. There are a few lame and tame rides for older folks, and an impressive number of kiddie rides

The Sky Ride....
for the very young. We ride, ride and ride all day!

In the middle of the day, we head to Frontier World. Back there are several water-type rides that get you soaked. We change into swimsuits, put our belongings in a locker, and hit the rides. Since our stroller only contains food and clothes, we leave it unattended here. Nobody has ever touched it, but I certainly would not leave anything of value in the stroller. After we get soaking wet, we dry off with our towels and change into dry clothes. SO much more comfortable that walking around with wet clothes for the rest of the day.

When we get hungering for dinner, we always go to Famous Dave's. It is located on the marina and is easy to get to from the park. Between the Valravn and Blue Streak you will find the Marina Entrance. You are able to get your hand stamped and walk out to the marina and to Famous Dave's. There, you can have good food, a relaxing place to sit, and air conditioning, all things that are severely lacking inside the park. A day at CP is a marathon, and our annual

dinner at Dave's is a much-appreciated respite from the hot cement and the constant walking.

We feel pretty darned refreshed after dinner, and are ready to ride until the park closes.

We always have such a good time here!
