April 2009: Bohemian Hotel Wide View
This is the wide view of the Bohemian Hotel's drive-in entrance. It is located one street over from our side of the Hotel. Update: Biltmore Village,
Asheville and
Art in the
Paris of the Appalachian Mountains Well, We made it back from our travels to Argentina and New Orleans last year. The construction was still going on in Biltmore Village for the rest of 2008, and as the construction died down
we were visited by two Plagues:
FIRST by the
'Great Gas Shortage' caused by a hurricane knocking out refineries in Texas, which shut down Western North Carolina for nearly a month during the peak of the Tourist season.
THEN as we started to get gas back into the gas stations the
'Great Recession' hit. I guess when it rains it pours.
It is early Summer of 2009 now The neighborhood is settling down.
tHat Final Touch has moved into the Old Shoe Shine Store, and have added a little excitement to the block. Rene, the owner, likes to have bands play in the alley on weekends and she is a warm wonderful neighbor.
Village Wayside Bar & Grille has moved in where the old Depot Restaurant was located. They look like a great couple, Mark and Polly, and they seem to have some well priced food that is very good
April 2009: View From Bohemian Hotel Lobby
You can see Rezza's wonderful restaurant and Bella Vista Art Gallery from the lobby doorway of the Bohemian Hotel quality. They are going to have an outdoor patio. I think they are going to be a great hit. The Art gallery,
Bella Vista Art is having its best year yet, in spite of the 'Recession'. We have acquired a great group of talented artists from Western North Carolina, other states and other countries. The
Bohemian Hotel which caused us all so much stress and pain during the construction phase has turned into a beautiful, attractive addition to the neighborhood. It is simply stunning on the inside, and the outside has blended into the area and added a nice splash of green plants and flowers with their landscaping. People are always coming and going to the hotel which has livened up the neighborhood.
Rezza's restaurant has come through the recession wonderfully and added a Sunday Brunch that has been a real Hit!
