Well the 10 minutes ran out quickly I couldn't even upload the photos so here is take two.
We checked out of our fancy hotel and put our luggage in storage. Caught the shuttle to the center of town to ctach the hopon/hopoff bus again. Had a look at independence hall as I think its pretty famous so better go there. It was the first parliament or something.
Then we walked upto the biggest US mint which makes all the coins. This was a cool tour learning how the coins are made and stuff. I remember doing this back at primary school. Then we jumped on the bus to the market everyone talks about. Its all local produces and people cooking food- no big food chains. So we had a look around and had another philly cheesesteak roll. These are very nice. Armish people had come from Lancaster to sell their goods so it was cool seeing them. Then we jumped back on the bus and re-took yesterdays tour as we didnt have much else to do. Our tour guy was abit of a character. As mentioned earlier there are a HEAP of statues here on each corner. He
was making up funny comments before he told us who they were. Like there was a guy sitting on a chair with his hand out so he was like and this is the 'honey please pass me the remote' statue. Anyway we laughed. So after this we got off close to the city and had a closer look at city hall. Then walked back to our hotel via a popular shopping street. It was much colder here than Washington. Got back to hotel, collected bags and walked to the big station where we caught another bus 2 hours to New York. Got on the free wifi so that trip went quick.
Arrived in New York at 4.30 and checked into our accommodation directly across from Madison Square Garden for $40/night!!!! Bargin. Pretty impressive since we paid $160/night last time we were here for the week! The other hotel was 2 blocks away.
Anyway relaxed in our room and then headed next door to madison square garden to see the ice hockey. After talking to a few dodgy guys out the front for cheap tickets we managed some $100 face value for $40 (Level 2, Row A). He walked
us up to the turn styles to prove they were genuine. We even got free t-shirts on the way in! Once in we were on level 2 which really is 3 as the bottom level is like 0. So we pretended we didn't realize that and sat in level 1 (looks like level 2). People sat around us and never asked us to move so we stayed there! The home team the rangers were getting killed and the crowd wasn't impressed. After each goal scored against them more and more people left. They only score 1 goal and when they did the crowd went wild as if they had just one the grandfinal or something. So with about 5 minutes to go and most of the crowd cleared out we went right down to the front to sit behind the glass. A security guy told us off so we sat 5 rows back instead of front row which was good to be soo close to the action. I didnt mind the game after Benn explained some of the rules, it was quite interesting.
After this we walked back across the road to our apartment. Talk about convenience! Thats the
least bit of walking we have done the whole trip!
