Carnegie Hall
Flags above the entrance Today's the day!
We had "dress" rehearsal this morning and had to spend a lot of time getting our number in line (45) and the row (5) and lining up in order. (Everything I needed to know I learned in Kindergarden.) Then we filed up Carnegie's flights of stairs and into the "green" room to wait. This waiting was the hardest part of the concert! Then we filed down stairs to the stage and carefully stepped, one by one, on to the risers. The rehearsal was mostly for Anthony and the orchestra, but it was good for us to see how we sounded with the orchestra.
Next was lunch at a near by restaurant and back to the "green" room to wait and line up for the concert. ACH! At last our turn came for us to be on stage, and we repeated what we rehearsed this morning. We sang the Requiem and I tried to keep my eyes on Anthony as much as possible. Comments after the concert included: "They had their eyes on me most of the time!", "You all sounded great.", "The balance was very good."
When we were finished, we all climbed the rest

Marty & John in the "Green room" before the concert of the Hall's stairs up to the top balcony where we watched and listened to the rest of the concert. Then we all trooped downstairs, got our coats and belongings and boarded the bus to be transported to the water front for a Spirit Dinner Cruise on NY harbor. We relaxed , had dinner and saw the water front sights. Unfortunately, there was a moderate fog rolling in, so we saw a fog enshrouded Lady Liberty.
Later we were bussed back to the Grand Hyatt. We rested, packed to fly home tomorrow, and went to bed. All in all, a busy and fun 4 day weekend in NYC.
