I was hoping to catch a sunrise at the summit early morning today. And by early I mean 3:30 am. That was when the gate was opened to visitors. look carefully and you'll see 2 piles of rocks. They're called "cairn". Cairn in generally can be used in different purposes but in this place it's used as a trail blazer guiding the hikers.

I saw a few Mini Coopers this time. They have an organized club that they come in a big group to go up Mt.Washington.

Doug signing in before proceeding to the trail. It's a way to keep track of hikers. My recollection is that this one is to keep track of foot traffic on the trails. The one on Mt.Washington uses the record to track lost hikers. Several have died attempting to climb Mt.Washington.

lots of fog!
Wow, that was a lot of fog! or clouds or whatever. Alx said he sure hoped the vet did well on the hills, with all that horsepower and all. Actually, he said with xyz horsepower, but that was not a number I kept in my head. anyhow, love teh slug photo.
