Road Trip
No, I haven't done my make up.... Left the Bungalow on Monday, first time we were sad to leave somewhere since Vancouver. We + Tim hired a car and made our way to Las Vegas which is only about a four hour drive but we wanted some time to cruise the strip 😊 Got there about 5pm and checked a few of the hotels for any offers as we wanted to be on the strip if possible and eventually checked into Excalibur, cheesy King Arthur themed cheesefest only cheesier, but it was pretty funny in a cheesy way. Checked in and was amazing to have a nice clean hotel room with air conditioning, think we collectively deposited about 5Kg of sand in the shower! First things first, all you can eat buffet for 7 quid, bargain! Then we got all dressed up with somewhere to go, we had been told to go to The Foundation Rooms nightclub at the Mandalay Bay if there on a monday as it's a members only club the rest of the week - good call Verity! It was at the very top of the building and the balcony looked down the whole strip, good club as well, very cool. However $30 entry fee

Is this the best nightclub view or what?! each and drinks prices weren't. Oh well we had a good time and managed to wake up for 11 the next day, booked the car for an extra 24 hours and set out for the Hoover Dam which was very impressive although we both freaked at the height issue. Decided to go on to the Grand Canyon and asked a local cop for directions to which he replied "I've no idea, I'm clueless" yes you bloody are! So we headed out by ourselves in the general direction. 4 and a half hours later we rocked up at the south rim (the most impressive apparently) of the canyon, all a little ragged and grumpy but as soon as we clapped eyes on it we were all dumbstruck. It was absolutely amazing and I'm gutted that our pics don't do it enough justice. You'll just have to take our word for it - GO.
Got back eventually and wandered out to New York, New York to see what was going on. Watched a band in an Irish bar whilst drinking Guiness, how original! Managed to drag it out til 4am as usual 😊 Steve was a hero in the morning and somehow

Or is this the best nightclub view.....? :) managed to get up and take the car back at 10 while Tim and I slept, he came back and caught a couple more hours before we spent the afternoon at the the hotel pool which was a glorified puddle, but it was so HOT, the pool was a good choice. Chilled out and watched a movie in the evening before heading to New York, New York to do the Manhattan Express rollercoaster which was very cool but everyone knew this was just the entree to what we had said we were all going to do - Stratosphere (1000 foot high tower with 3 rides on top of it). We walked down to the Bellagio and watched the fountain show then had a few beers in a bar there for some dutch courage. Then the time came to get a taxi to Stratosphere, everyone silently crapping themselves a little bit. We got to the top of the tower about 1am and the view over the whole of Las Vegas was awesome tried to take pictures but Greyhead was shaking too much! Our 1st ride was X-Scream, you sit on a track and it slides down and over the edge stopping
Good versus Evil
Go on Steve, just 1 more.... just before your heart does then wobbles you around a little bit before doing it again. We had however saved the best til last, The Big Shot. You're strapped in and it fires you to the top of the tower at about 100 mph and you're pulling 4g (That's a lot girls) then bounces you around at the top, fan-effing-tastic, we were all back slapping, hugging and pretty awake when we got off. Probably more glad to be alive than anything else! Just made our flight out to Chicago whilst Tim drove back to PB, hasta luego buddy! Talk at you soon. C & G
