State #6 for Bennett State #6 for Bennett State #6 for Bennett

one week shy of 8 months old
Finally getting around to typing up this blog that occurred 2 months ago. Life has been busy and I have had a mental block on writing. But during the drive from Redding to Sonoma, CA I decided to type up the big memories of our trip to Las Vegas.

My Husband really wanted to go to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving as his family started this tradition while we were living in China.

The 1st year, 2009. had the best attendance as many of the cousins didn't have children then.

In 2010, we were back in China after getting married in Santa Barbara, the holiday brings back sad memories for myself as this is when my Father in Law was diagnosed with advanced stages of Melanoma Skin Cancer that had metastazied to his brain & lungs. You can only imagine how we felt getting that Skype Call in China. I was teaching and came home to my husband a complete wreck. 10 days later we were on a plane moving to Portland, OR.

In 2011, we were in Hangzhou, China and we celebrated our Thanksgiving alone for the 1st time in our lives.

In 2012, we were living in Portland, OR but I had just started to work one month prior, Pete was unemployed and we couldn't afford to go to Vegas so we volunteered our time at a non profit transition home for those getting out of homelessness.

In 2013, we drove from Orange County, CA up to Vegas and I was pregnant.

This brings us up to 2014, where my husband really wanted to make it happen, even though 2014 has been a very financially rough year I found a great "deal" on Spirit Airlines and the 3 of us flew to Vegas roundtrip for $388 (before baggage fees*). All I will say about Spirit Airlines is were not impressed by their Customer Service, Baggage Policies & No Baby Carrier Policy. *My goal for 2015 is to always look on the positive side of every situation
