Today was our free day to do what we would like in Vegas. Cat and I got up and had breaky and then ran into Aaron and Donny around the car park so we made arrangements to do some sightseeing with them.
Firstly we hit the MGM Grand. We went to the lion enclosure and it was just before it opened so we sat and waiting the few minutes. It was a good time to go because the lions were very active when they came out playing and running around.
Next stop - Paris Paris. I loved it. Such a loser. Haha. But considering I have never been to Europe I was that excited just being in there. Its set out to look like an evening in Paris. The roof is painted with clouds, faint lighting, french music, french restaurants and the bottom of the Eiffel tower sticking out of the ground. It was my favourite in Vegas I think.
One the Mirage. We paid to entered Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden (US$15.00) and has a little bit of a look around there. There was dolphins, lions, tigers and tiger cubs. Very cute.
We also walked through
New York New York and Ceasars Palace. After that Cat and I said goodbye to the boys and jumped in a cab to head to one of the factory outlets. Fail. There was some sort of accident and we got stuck on the highway. We decided to head back to the hotel and bail on our shopping trip as we would not have made it back for our optional that night. About $30 later we were able to take an exit and get a monorail back to the hotel.
We had made plans to meet Aaron and Donny for dinner. We had intended to go to dinner at Coyote Ugly but they do not do food so we found an Irish Pub in New York New York. Food wasn't bad. Following dinner we went back to Coyote Ugly where girls got shots for free. Excellent for Cat and I, not so much for Aaron and Donny. One of the coyotes poured shots into our mouths. It wasn't very strong - it was like chambord or something. We stayed about 20 minutes and then went to meet the rest of the tour group near Planet Hollywood to do our Variety
Show optional. It was a really good optional that had a little bit of everything from Vegas. Acts included juggling, comedy, strong men and circus ole inspired acts all with audience involvement. Well worth the 50 or so dollars that it cost.
We went to Blush nightclub and there was a famous American NBA team there everyone was screaming over but I have no idea who they were. After that we hit another one or two bars but I can't remember where.
Overall Vegas is awesome and I could easily spend a week or two there. Only saw about 1/5 or 1/6 of the Casino's. There is so much to do and see in Vegas. Will have to go back one day.
