Independence Day
Getting in the spirit with out cotton candy and flags haha Temp: 106°F - 41.1°C
Day 4 started later. Soph let me sleep until 10:50am coz it was the first night sleep id had since id been there (i resorted to veryyyyyyyy basic sleeping pills from the chemist!) Anyway, got up and left the apartment by just before midday. We jumped on the Duece (bus company that is $7 for a 24hr pass (and yes, the bus runs alllll night here) to head out to the outlets. On the way we stopped off at the food warehouse thing where basically u can get a really good meal for next to nothing (combined breakfast / lunch, done!) then headed quickly to Fry's electrical to pick up a memory card. As it was July 4, upon entrance to Fry's we were greeted with Cotton Candy (aka Fairy Floss) and a small American Flag, very patriotic!
After this we jumped back on the bus and headed to the outlets. They were good if u were heading home and had plenty of space in your suitcase but as i am still here for just over another 7wks i restrained myself. I did discover a brand here called 'Coach' that even make dog collars (girls, its
like another version of 'Guess' but its huge here, Australia is a lil behind on it) so Cleo is now blinged up with a spiffy new collar.
About 3:30 we caught the bus back to the strip where we stopped off on the way at the "Welcome to fabulous Las Vegas' sign.
As we had Soph with us today we made another stop in at MGM to check out the lions then decided to drop into The Mirage hotel to look at 'The secret garden of Seigfried and Roy'. Here we found dolphins, white tigers and lions, alpacas, normal tigers, pumas and a few others.
We then ventured onto the Venitian opposite to see the renowned painted cloud roof and indoor gondala. Very pretty.
We headed back to circus circus for dinner then up to our room to get pretty before venturing out to see what festivites were in store for us for July 4. We managed to make the last fountain show outside Bellagio which was to the American National Anthem (very cool) then headed up to New York, New York. We checked out a few lil places on the way before heading to Coyote Ugly. This was very
similar to the movies, kinda small, good music and girls dancing on the bar (yes boys, i do have photos!)
A friend of mine from Melbourne who also happened to be in Vegas came over aswell just before Sophie and i were invited up on the bar by the Coyotes for a shot and amusing photo opportunity. After being kicked out of the bar at 2am we ventured into the casino for more drinks. Before we knew it 4:30am came round and we decided to head back to our hotel.
This took a while as we had to walk all the way up to Paris (as all the bus stops in between were closed) we waited agesssss for a bus and made it back up the strip to Circus Circus by just before 6am. Sounds fun but not when Soph had to be up to catch a shuttle by 8:40am to go to the airport and i had to check out of the hotel by 11am. Blahhhh..
