Rehab

Definitely feeling a little rough from last night, completely dehydrated constantly as a result. We went to the Leadership Brunch at the Las Vegas Hilton this morning and met some very nice people and saw some other nice people receive awards from Michael Kercheval, it was a good show and the food was good, a bellini at the start just seemed to make things worse though.

We didn't go to the Hard Rock pool as the title of this section might lead you to believe, but check it out online by googling it, they have some wild parties that Pam from Hot Topic was telling us about. I've forgotten to "juice" for the last six months, so we figured I might not fit in. In any event, the party will be at the Bellagio pool for the next few days as that is where Jennifer will park all day long while I slave away in the convention center.

The Strip

Today was the excursion down the strip to check out the old and new places - Forum Shops at Caesars; Bellagio Promenade; Wynn Esplanade; Venetian Grand Canal Shops; the Shoppes at Palazzo; Fashion Show Mall . .

We walked into the Venetian and were greeted by the most amazing and intense floral smell, then we saw these flowers. Then we walked further and realized it was artificial scent.
. yeah we're basically exhausted! We didn't spend any money, we MADE money, a little bit on video poker at Venetian, and a bit more at Wynn on blackjack - walking away with $30 we didn't have (we only went in with $20, so I can't say we did too bad!). The gambling was just so we could have a break from the shopping and sit down mindlessly for a while. We didn't buy anything because everything is extraordinarily expensive. I saw the first ever Mezlan shoe store which was incredible - they had an all alligator briefcase that cost $9,500. Everyone else is here too - Dior, Lacroix, Perse, Marc Ecko, it's better than Orange County as far as range of selection. Marc Ecko store at Fashion Show was great, unfortunately I have no pictures but they had two girls out front wearing nothing more than thigh highs, heels, bra and panties, and a long white men's button down shirt that had maybe one button done. You don't see that in Ohio. That's all I'll comment about that.

We are off now to the Bellagio Grand Patio for our annual Vegas party, last year I had to catch

an old lady who fainted from the heat, hopefully this time will be a little less eventful!

Last Night in Vegas

We didn't party too hard our last night in Vegas - dinner at the Pink Taco at Hard Rock Casino - some gambling. I was steadfast on my desire to return to the Bellagio where we were hot but Nate and Jennifer were willing to stay. We lost $110 in the casino, $100 of which was lost in four hands at the blackjack table - Nate didn't do any better. So we finally went to Bellagio with a $100, to our favorite table where Brenda and Donna "helped" us win back our money - we ended up at $190 - not bad I guess! The lucky tables are near the wine bar called Fin.

Pink Taco was nice, a "cool" place that does not cost an arm and a leg is a great start for Vegas, but as said in the last paragraph its clear where the Hard Rock makes their money! The food was very good - mexican - as was the service. I had the Pink Tacos which were okay, Nate had a paper-thin

About the size of Bellagio's Promenade, but better executed from design standpoint.

The new Palazzo tower at the Venetian along with the Shoppes at the bottom - the highest end accumulation of shops configured in an impractical circuit and feeling dark and dead - not many people here.

No lack of building in Vegas, it looks bucolic and cool next to the fountains but it was over 100 degrees, the lamppost being the only shade.

It's hard to tell against the 30 story Bellagio, but this jet here is about 15 feet high.
