Another comfortable fight from NY (actually New Jersey but you do get a super view of the NY skyline at 6am on a spring morning!)
Arriving Las Vegas midday, bright sun but a chill in the air. Desert light is so clear, as though your eyes have just had their windows cleaned. Some 18 years since we were here last. Many new developments, almost unrecogniseable. Our new hotel, The Luxor, impressive, especially as we are due to see the real pyramids in two weeks time at the end of our ROUND THE WORLD trip.
Explore the immediate vicinity to get bearings and plan tomorrows' exploration. First priority, FOOD, choice of inhouse (inPyramid?) eateries or nearby competitors? Best to stay local first time, play safe! In fact the USA cannot be faulted for food. Never had a bad meal nor bad service. Lucky or what? Timewise we have gained another three hours but we are only three days out from GMT and have not adjusted our body clocks to NY let alone LV... all a bit 'where are we, what day is it'? Not a problem, just go with the flow. Second priority, PostCards and Stamps for the g'kids back in

UK plus txting reports to family... isn't technology wonderful?
Ever wondered why US beds are so BIG? super king size? Anyone with an answer?
Up and out early, plan is to 'shop till we drop' today. Been told what we must see but decide to simply do the lot on the Strip!! Start at Mandalay and end at Circus Circus.. from 10am to 8pm... and this is a holliday?? Nevertheless well satisfied, we live on coffees and snacking plus plenty of WATER (a must!!), collect plenty souvenirs, and lose one dollar toboot in the casino! One dollar can buy 100 throws on the 1arm-bandit, but you can lose the ranch in ten seconds. Not to be taken seriously, its only meant to be a bit of fun!??! Interestingly you wont find many LV locals gambling, only visitors! Must say something?
Pack, bed, ready for 5am call and bag-pull, security demands early arrival at airport!
Some pictures to complete the Las Vegas item... (next stop Honolulu-Hawaii... new territory!)
