2017 Blog of South America Trip

We have another incredible cruise vacation planned this year and we want to invite you to join us (at least in spirit) by reading a blog that we will publish. We briefly visited South America back in 2012 with a one-day visit in Columbia, but on this year’s trip we will explore much more of this continent and then some islands of the Caribbean which we haven’t seen previously. This will be our longest vacation in terms of “cruise days”. We will enjoy 33 days by sailing from Valparaiso Chile, cruise around Cape Horn at the southern tip of South America, on to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro and many other places, and finally back to Florida through the Caribbean. Before the cruise we will also spend a couple of days exploring Santiago Chile. For this year’s cruise we sail on the Crown Princess, which was our ship in Northern Europe four years ago. We had been looking at this kind of South America itinerary for a long time and we actually booked this trip (really two back-to-back cruises) way back in the spring of 2015. We’re glad we did it early because the first cruise has been virtually Sold Out for the past 8 months. Anyway, we are pretty excited about this trip and can hardly wait until we get started.

As always, we want to say THANK YOU to our family members for house/cat-sitting while we are away. Their kindness makes it possible for us to go on this tremendous trip and not worry about what’s happening “back at the ranch”. Hopefully the weather will be nice at home and they won’t have any problems. At least the lawn shouldn’t be growing while we are away this year.
