Here we go on another fun vacation. It has been 16 months since our last cruise (Australia/New Zealand), and we have developed a bad case of itchy-foot syndrome. This trip will be another “first time experience” for us – going on a cruise we’ve actually done before; to Alaska. Our previous Alaskan Cruise was 11 years ago so we are looking forward to seeing it again, but we are also doing new things and this certainly will not be a re-run of our earlier trip. The first week of this vacation will be a land-based exploration of the Canadian Rockies (where we have wanted to visit for a long time), followed by a week cruising the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Anchorage Alaska. We will be joined on the cruise portion by Janet’s sister Kathy Siebert and her husband Jim. Back in 2010, we enjoyed cruising back from Europe with the them, so we are expecting to have lots of fun again this time. Not only will we be able to share having these experiences, but can then reminisce together about them in the future.
We want to give a big THANK YOU to our family members who will be house/cat-sitting while we are away. Their kind help makes it possible for us to go on this trip and not need to worry about what’s happening “back home”.
The "good stuff" should begin about Aug 15th, so be sure to follow our exploits at that time.
