we're actually whitewater rafting in this picture I'm trying out a new camera that Tom got for free at work. There was some difficulty in acquiring a charger, but that mission has been accomplished. These pictures are acting as a test run for my upcoming trip to Portland this week. I went on a quick camping jaunt this weekend with a fellow forester-in-the-making. The goal was twofold. First, I am trying to get some information on a certain species of grass that is considered invasive in the area. It has been widely planted for years as a way to prevent erosion, but it tends to take over and do as any other invasive would. Secondly, I wanted to see the lake and woods one more time before winter hits, or at least before all of the leaves fall. It was a fantastic weekend, with a short break in the clouds from all the grey weather that I have been enjoying. The tamarack was in full display and the beach was not windy. Let's see what the fuss is about regarding this camera.
