Text and Photos last updated: August 2012
Number of times we have biked this trail:2

Location: east of Saginaw, Michigan
Distance: 16 km (10 miles)
Distance markers: at each county road intersection
Surface: asphalt
Width: 3 metres
Grade: Flat
Conditions of trail:excellent
Parking: Eastern Staging area in Richville
Water: none
Washrooms: none
Rest Areas: benches
Trail marking: NONE

The Harger Line Rail Trail runs east west from Towerline Road (.5 miles north of E Holland) in Buena Vista (Saginaw) to the eastern staging area on M-15 north end of Richville.

The staging area in Richville is well marked with signs on the higway. There is parking for about 6 vehicles. The western area currently just stops at Towerline Road. There is no parking!

The surface is ashphalt and it is in good condition.

Surprisingly there is no sign anywhere telling you that this is the Harger Rail Trail!

There are approximately 6 modern clean benches along the route.

The eastern portion (first 8 miles or so) is very open with little or no shade. The trail passes through agricultural land with fields of corn and soybeans. The western portion has more trees and shade. Surprisingly most of the benches are out in the open and not in shaded areas.

There are no services for water or bathroom on the trail. Gas station in Richville would be the closest option!
