We landed in New Hampshire Thursday morning, followed by a car ride that took less than an hour to get to our destination in Massachusetts. It wasn't until I sent my little sister a text message that we landed safely and got a response of,
What? Where? Why?
that I realized that I forgot to tell my family I was leaving other then one sister on the other side of the family and a cousin in Ohio.
Alex had invited me to Westford, Massachusetts to meet more of his extended family and attend a wedding for his second cousin. The time spent was jammed packed. I forgot my bathing suit and the hotel has a pool so we went shopping. Got a really cute top and a new suit at Marshall's and never had a chance to swim.
Thursday - Fly in, lunch at Karma (a FANTASTIC Japanese/Chinese restaurant), shopping, rehearsal dinner
Friday - Sleep in, lunch at Karma
again because it's so good, wedding, reception
Saturday - Champagne brunch, drive to Boston
Sunday - Fly home, sleep most of the remainder of the day
The wedding was beautiful. It was
outside with rolling hills and roaming cows set as the background. It was so perfect, it was commented by a few people it could have been a painting backdrop. The wedding was quick and right to the point with personal memories and vows...having only met the happy couple the night before, it gave a good insight as to what they're all about.
Alex and I danced for the first time. Put that in the record books. Dinner was delicious, the band was AMAZING, and the bar was full and flowing all night with anything and everything you could think of. Dinner had everything from salmon, to beef, to VEGAN friendly food. The wedding cake itself was vegan
(no animal products were used in the making of this cake, if you're not quite sure what I mean by "vegan") I couldn't get over how thoughtful they were about everyone's diet. I have a lot of vegan, vegetarian, and pescetarian (myself included) friends who are usually left to eat the potato salad and/or whatever fruit and veggies are lying around (that is if the cook didn't smother the green beans in some form of bacon for example).

Since Boston is only a 40 minute drive and went on a day trip. Alex, Marcia (his mom), and I, started with lunch at the Salty Dog. Alex and I split a lobster sandwich, I watched them slurp down oysters (gives me the willies), and we all left with happy bellies. We toured historic sights, watched incredibly talented street performers, and ended the night with a delicious Italian dinner and two bottles of Pinot Noir (my personal favorite!). We got home late and got up early. The pictures can do the talking for me.
I do want to say though, that there's two videos of the street performers uploaded. I took one and the other was snagged from YouTube. If nothing else, watch the second one.
It was a group of guys who call themselves the Breeze Team from NYC. At the end when they asked for money before performing the final portion of the entertainment they said,
"We're trying to get home to NYC so take out 10 or 15 dollars from your wallet and put the rest in the bucket. We don't get paid for this other then what you give us. The money keeps us out of YOUR house and the COURT house. If you don't, we'll be forced to stay in Boston and marry your daughters."
They were an absolute riot. They went on to say something along the lines of,
"If you give us ten dollars we'll go home happy, if you give us $20 dollars, we'll go home REALLY happy, and if you give us $50 to $100...we'll go home with YOU."

YAY! My home town!! We used to take field trips in school to Faneuil Hall! I lived about 45 minutes outside of Boston. I think it's a crap hole, but if you don't have to drive there or live there, Boston can be awesome!
