We are definitely on our way home now.

As we head out along the main Boston harbor waterfront, we see an enormous commotion in front of us and find that someone (without informing us) has in our honor brought out the USS Constitution herself. She fires a full broadside for us ... or possibly at us ... as we depart ... :-)

We read later that this is the first time that the USS Constitution has sailed under her own power since 1881.

We time our departure so that we pass through the main outer approach to Boston Harbor and past Boston Lighthouse as the tide is turning. The beautiful sunny weather continues and Massachusetts Bay continues to be uncharacteristically calm.

Once again in Scituate, we pick up a mooring from the Cedar Point Launch and once again visit the Mill Wharf Restaurant. They serve us an enormous pile of tiny little mussels in a broth that is made doubly spicy by banana peppers and linguica sausage. Very tasty. There is a lot of Portuguese heritage up and down this coast.

This blog has six photos.
