First Sunset in our new home
As our friends and family know, we sold our house in June. We have been living in the RV since June 3. Not having a house to tend to we have enjoyed exploring Maine over the summer. I also have been playing with the camera learning how to operate it off of the "auto" setting....definitely a work in progress. I had the most fun with it so far trying to capture the spray of the waves at the ocean and slowing the roll of the waves. I probably am including too many pictures of them but I just thought it was so cool so maybe you will too.

As this is my first post, we'll see how the pictures all set up...(Already see I am going to need to do a couple of entries to capture the photo highlights of our summer)

We've been parked in Green Valley Campground in Vassalboro. It's half way between Waterville and Augusta. Our spot is right across from the nightly sunset. We've seen the progression of the sun through later sunsets, and now the regression of them coming much earlier in the evening. We've met a couple who have been parked beside us

Loon nest off the bow
all summer too who we learned have been on the road full-time for a year. Dick and Vicki have traveled taking wildlife photos. We look forward to running into them next spring. We've also seen many travelers from many states come through over the last few months.

Being on Webber Pond, we have done some kayaking and I was able to finally see a loon nesting. I've also seen eagles and osprey. One day I was out on the water and saw an eagle chasing another who had a fish. The fish got dropped, the chaser grabbed it and I was able to watch it enjoy his lunch. I also saw many eagles/osprey diving for fish. I just loved being out there watching them in their environment. My cellphone camera didn't do much justing so no pictures of that...just the loon.

Over the summer we visited Damariscotta, Wiscasset Speedway (had to endure a long delay from a thunder storm), Popham Beach, and Monhegan Island. We spent the 4th of July with our friend's Lisa and JB Solomon in Bangor enjoying the fireworks from the roof parking deck of Hollywood Casino. They do an awesome display, this was our second year seeing them there. Most notable this year is Mike won on the slot machine and left WITH his winnings!
