Seeing Family in Portland, ME

Dear Friends & Family, What a joy it was to see 3 of the Svihuses step out of the elevator! The only joy that was missing was seeing Dylan, but football playoffs must come first when the team is counting on you, Mr. Snap. CHS will play Scotts Valley on Saturday next...good luck! We spent so much time getting caught up on things. It sounds like all is well at home. Jenn has planned Thanksgiving and I gave her "The Recipe" for creamed onions. We will missed being with the whole family, but are delighted to be here with Abby where it was the coldest spot in the continental USA yesterday at 13 degrees! I guess our long undies will be most needed. We went up the Maine coast (again for us) to see sailboats in Yarmouth & Camden. We loved being back in Camden as it is so lovely. So was the clam chowder and the "turn-key" boat, but at a hefty price. The other boat was a real "fixer-upper" with a discounted price, but "lots of potential" quoth Jeff. He even went back to see it today, but none of us decided to go. We had dinner in the hotel the first night after they arrived, but last night went to a restaurant DiMello's right on the boat dock in downtown Portland. There we all had a delicious dinner, but our entertainment for the evening was provided by watching Jeff eat with gusto 2 whole lobsters! You would have had to be there to appreciate the pleasure on his face as he sucked each tasty morsel out of its shiny red shell. And, he still had room for 1/2 of bread pudding! Today when Jeff gets back we hope to head downtown for some sight seeing. They will leave for Manchester, NH tonight in order to catch a very early flight to San Jose on Wed. We will stay here tonight and fire up the motorhome towards New York. It has been a very pleasant break in our routine to have them here. We'll probably be home in about a month.
