After a great night at Kate Hildebrand's family we traveled through Texas and Louisiana to the little town of Converse.
The town was founded by Col. James Converse who owned a lot of land in the area. It was a thriving boom town at one time. The financial center of town was the Converse State Bank. It enjoyed an oil boom. Recently, it has been declining but still sports a great little High School.
