The story I read was about Anne Smith's aunt. She had been 8 years old when the Genocide had happened. Her aunt lived in Ovajic. Her whole family was forced to leave the village. She was the youngest of the family. While her family was marching, her sister fought a Turkish soldier. Because she fought a Turkish soldier, her eyes were taken out of her eye sockets. Her family could not do anything so they had to leave her there. The aunt was sold to some Arabs. Because she was sold to Arabs, her life was saved. The rest of her family had died while marching. After the war, Anne Smith's father, the aunts brother, went looking for his sister. Her brother was in the army so he was not with his family when they were forced out of the village. Her brother was almost done looking for her when he found her herding sheep in the farm that she lived in with the Arabs. The brother and sister reunited and together they left and went to the United States.
