A Anonymous member at a protest
Even though there are many individual philosophers that are alive today, one group that I feel as if deserve the title would be the activist group Anonymous. They are not just in Chicago or New York; they are EVERYWHERE in the world. They are hacktivists that hack certain website in order to spread the truth on certain things like the government. One reason why I believe that they would fit the title of philosophers is because they ARE trying to make the world a better place. They have the courage to speak the truth on topics that people would rather not discuss. They also help fight for people's protections like at protests or just nationwide. For example, there was a cop who peppered sprayed peaceful protesters. Anonymous targeted the cop and exposed his information in order to bring him to justice. Not only do they target the abusers of the people, but also the corrupted governments and the secrets they keep from their people. Anonymous has taken part from the protests in Egypt to the G20 Protests. They help today's society by trying to make the world a better place by exposing all the lies and regaining hope for humanity.
