Palomar Hotel Chicago
Hello to all,

No pictures tonight....much too tired and I have not figured out how to use the camera function on the Droid that John gave me to replace my telephone. Day 1 started off with one of our kitties escaping into the wild when we tried to corral up all three for boarding. Hopefully our helpful neighbor will get her inside and locked up in the house for a long spell of thinking over why she was supposed to cooperate. Bad Lolly!

I am suffering from a shoulder impingement in my right arm which means that John gets to move all the ridiulous amounts of luggage I brought, and, as it occurs, we will be heading into huricanes soon. Let's hope the hurricanes dissipate and the cortisone shot kicks into high gear on my arm.

It was a long gruelling cattle car flight to Chicago and a long gruelling drive in from the rental car place. However, an excellent late dinner of small plates in our hotel's very noisy and happy bar, a great view from the 16th floor as Chicago is lashed by rain and lit up with lightning. Now for the whirlpool bath. Hopefully the

day will be sunny tomorrow so we can go for a long walk after our cooped-up-ness from today. Then on to visit John's Uncle Tom and Doris. We're on vacation-at last!

Love
Max and John

Glad you made it to Chicago
So sorry to hear about your shoulder impingement. Sounds perfectly miserable. My parents spent their later years traveling first class. It made all the difference in the quality of their state of plane travel. Dad and my brother have been down visiting the Bay Area this week. It has been a rare opprotunity to be together as a family. Hope the rest of your vacation is lovely. Jennifer
