3 tables beach near Shark's Cove Our intentions today were to rent personal water craft from the Watercraft Connection in Haleiwa, however once our 13 year old discovered that he would not be able to take control, even with an adult riding, the excitement of doing this dimished to non-existent among our boys, which was fine with us, considering that we had really no interest in doing it. So, off to Waimea Bay in search of a parking spot.
Upon arrival at Waimea at 11:15am, it was impossible to park without walking a 1/2 mile with lunch, chairs, umbrella, snorkeling gear in tow, so we headed to "3 tables" beach which is located east of Waimea Bay and next to Sharks Cove. This was a great beach, and considering the crowd and abundance of sand, as GOOD as Shark's cove, possible even better all things considered. The same fish exist here for snorkeling as they did in Shark's Cove, but you have the added extra of more sand, more shade and more parking spots. Shark's is right next door, just 100 yards away, so you can always just walk down the sidewalk to Shark's Cove. I recommend this beach due to Shark's Cove limited sand beach.

1 of "3 Tables" After spending waaaay too much time in the sun and sea, we headed back to the condo to wash up and go out to dinner.
Pinky's Pupu Bar and Grill was in order, and about a 35 minute drive from Punaluu. I highly recommend this restaurant for the shear order of possibility of culinerary delights on the menu. The staff was outstanding, and the food was excellent! My wife had the Mac Nut encrusted Mahi Mahi, and I the baby back ribs, coconut shrimp, along with appetizers such as Buffalo Wings (Very good and spicey!) and coconut encrusted Calamari (highly recommended!) The beer comes served in huge goblets (18 oz) and the kids soda glasses were bottomless.
A funny story about our waitress whom my oldest son noticed as 13 year old boys do tend to be curious about beautiful girls at this age: My son and I discussed briefly about her pleasant smile and as he said "she's hot dad"...Well, our waitress came around to ask how everyone was doing, and my oldest son asked her something, but she was engaged in conversation with my wife and I. My youngest perked up and asked her for

She immediately spoke to him ignoring the oldest boy while he was talking to her at the same time. Off she went to retrieve the mac and cheese and the youngest son (10 years old) turned to the oldest son and proudly declared "Notice how she responds to me...." We about fell out of our chairs with laughter, and its a good thing we had extra napkins to dry our tears from laughter. Naturally we had to get a photographic moment with our waitress. It was an evening my wife and I will never forget!
Don't miss the opportunity to drive all the way out to Pinky's. It's a fantastic place to eat.
