Even Julie and Vicki can make a mistake!

Aloha. So the first full day in paradise was very quiet. We hung out on the beach and lani all day. I, in my usual style, managed to pull my calf muscle on our first foray into the briny. But I will live. It was truly a wonderful first day.

In the evening Julie and Vicki did our research and decided we should go to the Barefoot Bar at the Hula Grill in Whaler’s Village. Well, sometimes even seasoned cruise directors can make an error in judgment. The food was actually good, except for Rusty’s puperoni pizza, but the service was HATEFUL. Don’t go, resist the urge. It is in tourist central, but still.

Then a trip to Hilo Hattie’s and boy… Hattie has really gone down hill too. It is a sad day when you can’t even find one shirt you will drag home. Oh well, it was only day one.

So that was it, a truly wonderful day in paradise.
