Around the World in a Day
Hello my omegoes and compadriades(i think i just made this word up....or it's mexican) So i have been gone for about two weeks now and thought it ripe time to be letting you know what is happening on this side of the world. Well America is in the worst economic state its been in for a while, 75%!o(MISSING)f America hates Busch and everyone wishes there was more choice in voting when it comes to their elections in a few months. Other than that, everything is great. Anyway onto more pressing matters....me😊
So as you know i was able to spend a few days in Florida on the way to hawaii! Boy was that a good idea! I was able to just chill out a bit after a very hectic few months at home. I was able to see my girlfriend and her famliy which was super great! We didn't do much for the first few days except talk and catch up. It is amazing how much different it is communicating in person than just over the phone. Spent some time with her family and friends too and built relationships with them-they love me😊
Just kidding...well hopefully they do. I love them though. Anyway. Also was able to see one of my other mates from DTS, Chase, which was great as he was like my best friend on DTS. He prayed over me and got a cool picture and word. He saw this tree by the water and felt that God was saying that i was entering a time of being rooted in God and that He will use tis time to deepen my roots, which if you can remember is exactly what God said to me for this time 3 months ago, talk about confirmation!!! God also gave me a verse, Psalm 1:1-3. He said that this was for my time in SBFM, and if you read it it also talks about being rooted, and some other cool stuff too, so i was pretty excited about that.
Reunited with Friends
I was also able to spend three days with Nath and Tam!!!! This was more exciting than the first 81 minutes of the 2007 Super 14 final! It was so good to see them as it has been a year since i last layed eyes on my main man Nathan Wit and
his lovely FIANCE!!!! What a time of blessing. They treated me as an honoured guest and blessed me so much. Nath took me Jet Skiing the one day, and we went out for dinner twice! It was so good to be around them again, and just be myself and goof off. They are doing really well, having a blast and working hard. They are really wise and i learnt a lot from them in my short time with them.
Home Away From Home
Horaay Hawaii! So i arrived back in Maui and was greeted by three old friends who i had missed very much, one of them being Steph my DTS leader. It was so good to see them again. It was almost weird being back in Maui, it was as though i hadn't left. The base is very quiet at the moment as there is no DTS running so there is only a skeleton staff and then the SBFM staff which are only 5. I am staying at a different location this time, the SBFM base is two houses a street apart in the little hippie town of Paia. It's fun seeing all the hippies in dred locks
and old clothes, yet simultaneously sad. They are all very lost.
Anyway, the boys stay in a fairly spacious, termite ridden house. My room mates are very cool and very similar to me, ie very cool😊 They surf and love Jesus. I already knew them as they were in the school before mine and we spent a week together when they came back from outreach. The other two guys are rather dorky looking but very cool😊 There are four girls, one of them being Natalia, my beautiful girlfriend.
So i arrived in hawaii two or so days beforre opening night and so got to spend some time chilling out and seeing all the old faces and meeting the new students as they came in. We had opening night on saturday, which basically meant we all got together and ate really good food and prayed. The school leader started speaking and he started speaking about what God had spoken to him about the school and God gave him the parable of the sower from the book of Mark. God highlighted the same verse to him that God had highlighted to me about being rooted. So he started speaking about
being rooted in what we believe and how we also need to have intimacy with Christ, which was exactly what God had spoken to me. God also had given the same verse to the Australian girl on my team and spoken to her about being rooted. So God really has been speaking and confirming so many things for me.
Then on Sunday morning i woke up and went to the bathroom. Whilst i was in the bathroom and incredible pain started in my abdomin, and i broke out in an instant cold sweat. I pushed my tummy and the pain just exploded into more pain....i wanted my mom! I called one of the guys, and told him i thought my appendix needed to come out. It was honestly the most pain i had experienced in my life. So they prayed for me and took me to the emergency room. Long story short, they did blood tests, urine tests and a cat scan and couldn't find anything wrong. I felt fine, slightly week but it was as though nothing had happened. It was weird. Once they had ruled out my appendix, they were certain i had passed a kidney stone
but they found nothing. So that was fun. I am fine now, just praying that my medical insurance will cover it!!! So pray for that too.
We started school today just with basic orientation. OH MY HECK we have a stink load of reading and essays to do. Seriously like a stink load. I literally have to start reading tonight to stay up to date, and have an essay due like Monday, plus journals to write, plus lectures to attend, plus the work the lecturers give us-YIKES! I will most certainly be rooted by the end of this! So pray for 48 hour days! Thanks.
Well i must love you and leave you. I am sorry if my good humor and dry wit was lacking during this but i had a bunch to say so didn't want to get carried away. I will try keep you updated every fornight as my spare time will be seriously minimal. I love you all and miss you already. Please pray that i 1)stay healthy 2)insurance pays 3)i am able to balance my life 4)spiritaul protection. Thank you! You are in my thoughts! Mahola!
