Everyone loved the rainbow tube
The morning started nice as Tory made eggs and toast for everyone and we relaxed in the room for the first morning without having to run out somewhere. We had made friends with a couple from Chicago and their kids and they saved us a chair at the Nanea pool so we headed over there to play. The kids brought our inner tubes and used them to fly down the mini-slide as Steve pushed them faster, spun them around, and sent them down backward. Vivian did not like being pushed on her little purple tube because it went too fast but she had plenty of fun pushing daddy down the slide backward and then sliding after him so he could catch her at the bottom. The kids we were meeting with were more interested in playing on devices in their room, so Nathan, Rosie, and Vivian ended up having a blast swimming together as they threw a ball around, went in the hot tub, and then Nathan and Rosie played a game diving after the divers that Tory brought with us. With all the hours in the pool, Rosie's swimming improved by a ton in the week we have been in Hawaii and she is very confident! Steve went back to the room with Vivian for naps and later Tory took the kids back for lunch and to hang out before we visited our old neighbors in Kihei.

We drove the 45-minute drive to Kihei and enjoyed the beautiful views of the coastline and mountains during the day. It was really amazing to catch up with Brandon and Melissa and see their kids Mason and Haley (Melissa's Mom was visiting too.) Brandon has been rebuilding a house from the ground up over the last 3 years, 1 year to get permits, and finally moved into the liveable space a few months ago in March. They live a 5-minute walk from the beach so we all walked there to jump in the ocean and build in the sand a castle with walls to catch water from the big waves. All the kids played really well together at the house, as Mason and Haley are each 3 months younger than Nathan and Rosie and have similar likes. Brandon grilled some tasty chicken teriyaki and pineapple sausage along with mushrooms and asparagus from Melissa. We caught up about work, kids, and everything else,

then the kids had some ice cream and joked around making Donal Duck noises. We drove home pretty late so the girls were crying some but it was all for a great night out in Kihei.
