The last four days have certainly flown by!

Here it is , the evening of June 22, and the 2015 Woman's Air Race Classic starts tomorrow at the Stafford Airport at 8 a.m. 50 planes, nose to tail, will be departing one at a time to see who can fly the best time to beat their handicap and land 2500 nautical miles later in Fairhope, Alabama by 5 p.m. On June 25,2015.

It has not been all work and briefing seminars. Found time to tour the Fredericksburg, Va.area, which is certainly steeped in American history. Some of the pilots headed down to Luray Caverns, some went into Washington, D.C., while quite a few toured downtown Fredericksburg and enjoyed several culinary delights, one of them being Carl's Custard stand, which we were told is one of the ten best in the country, per PBS!

Our favorite tour was in a horse drawn carriage pulled by Tony the horse. A wonderful scenic ride through the streets of Fredericksburg, narrated by a young historian. Well worth seeing, and well worth learning more about the beginning history of our wonderful country.

Starting tomorrow, we will be heading out on our air journey! First stop- Morganton, North Carolina.
