So after a great time in San Francisco I set off for Yosemite park on the Bugbus. I had already met a few people (Jonathon, Emma and Laura) from my hostel going on the Bugbus and knew it was going to be a good weekend.
We arrived at the bug hostel (just outside Yosemite park) at 9pm so it was in darkness although we managed to have a look around the Spa (unfortunately there was no time to use it) and meet the other people over a beer.
The next day we woke up to glorious weather and set off for Yosemite, first stop the giant sequoias. We saw the giant grizzly ( the largest tree in this grove), walked through the tree tunnel (cut in 1895) and on top of the fallen tree tunnel. The trees were massive, far too big for me to take a decent photo of infact that goes for the whole of Yosemite park, its all on such a grand scale! After a healthy and tasty lunch provided by the hostel (all the food was really good) we went off to hike to the top of the sentinal dome. From here we had an

The Giant Grizzly amazing view taking in the half dome and El Capitan (unfortunately we were to far away to see any climbers even with binoculars). We then headed back to the hostel for a much needed shower, dinner, beers and a live band!
The next day the weather had changed but despite the rain and the cold we headed to Vernal falls where we hiked up loads of stairs to get to the top of the waterfall and the emerald pool. Unfortunately the waterfalls are not at there best at this time of year but there was still lots of beutiful scenery to take in and it was all the more atmospheric because of the clouds!
It was then time to head back to San Francisco and then on to LA to catch the plane to Quito!
