An eventful day in the rain

We awoke to rain and forecasts of thunderstorms which stopped our cablecar and bike ride plans. We headed over Golden Gate bridge via beautiful Sausalito to the Bay Model which is an actual model of the Bay area filling a space equivalent of two football fields inside a large shed run by the Army Corps.

After a wee while there we headed for Napa and a factory outlets but nobody could be bothered going round NY designer clothes store so made an unscheduled call into Six Flags Discovery Kingdom which is a Theme Park, Zoo and Sea World centre all in one. Beacuse of the rain there were more employees than visitors and the park was to shut early two hours after we arrived. We had bought Season Passes online and needed to be photographed for ID cards.

We were soon to be embroiled in a medical scare when Luke running as usual from a ride he had been on, fell and landed on his side and hand. By the time he got to his mum he said he felt funny and then fainted. We soon had half a dozen security and medical people helping us to establish there was nothin serious amiss that a big cookie and sugar wouldnt help with. He was soon well enough to travel to a nearby Denny's restaurant and agood feed perked him up. As we neared San Fran again the sun came out and we drove up Twin Peaks for the best views in Town.

Our evening walk down to Fisherman's wharf was thwarted by yet more rain!

Take it easy mate! U got another two weeks yet. Hope the weather turns for the better, but I am sure you will have a great time regardless. Give my love to your big sister, we miss you loads and can't wait to read the next installment. Love dad x x x x x

hi all great to be kept up to date on your adventures in California ,how is Luke after his fall ? he still looks real cool in the photos . Tell Mia if she could take photography as an option at school she would be first in her class. keep on sharing the fab photos . Has Ellie listen to all her talking books yet ? is the accommodation good and are you all over the jet lag now ? Luke is more than fully recovered! We are at Death Valley very hot and dry and rustic. WIll be dark tonight when sun sets wow! DAwn is off to drown little two in the pool!
