...yawn.... been up all night pricing hotels, campgrounds, and hostels in Greece. Some good finds-- now just need to connect. I've got a little more leg room to plan for Italy now. After about a week in Greece, and a couple days in Serbia, we'll make our way to meet Apollo and Athena in Venice. By this point, we'll have a third travel partner as well-- Nia.

In the works: Venice, Italy

Athena and Apollo have been doing a bit of research on Italy in regards to where to stay and transportation. Planning on our part has been somewhat at a hault since we have our first travel leg plans to still sort. As Oceanus and I fine-tune our Greco-Serb itinerary, the Italy leg well come into more detail. So far the 4 of us settled on car rentals as a our mode of transport after Venice (where we'll be on foot), and have some potential homestay hookups through Apollo's buddy. Oceanus' part is to find our first homestay in Venice.

Stage 1a: Greece to do list

3. transportation from Athens to Thira BOOKED!

Option A: Eurail- doesnt go there
Option B: Fly- DECIDED TO FLY (found a cheap flight)!
Option C: Ferry from Port of Piraeus or Rafina near Athens- takes too long and same price as flying

4. homestay in Thira BOOKED (5/9/07)!
5. transportation in Thira- probably moped. Actually Jenn and Drew said get a cat because the mopeds won't make it through the hills (5/9/07).
6. transportation from Thira back to Athens, Sparta, or straight to Serbia? Decided on a RT to athens. confirm? BOOKED (4/07)

March 30, 2007 Change in Greece plans

We decided to hit santorini instead of mykonos since mykonos seems more like a party island. Also, we are going into Rome first, then Venice.... well at least we think we are... yes, we are going to Rome first (5/10/07)!
