Alcatraz has many rules. Rule #29 states...Bathing and laundry exchange are scheduled for mainline bath inmates every Tuesday afternoon and Saturday morning....bathing and clothing change twice a week, they can't be serious!

Al Capone served 4.5 years in Alcatraz and spent 8 days in the hole (isolation) for a fight in the recreation yeard

Escape from Alcatraz
There are no "confirmed" escapes from Alcatraz, but 4 inmates (Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, Frank Morris, and Allen West), dug through their cell walls with a spoon into an unused utility corridor, and departed Alcatraz Island aboard an improvised inflatable raft to an uncertain fate (freedom or death in the SF bay). Allen West did not make it out of his cell in time & was left behind

Escape from Alcatraz
The inmates tucked papier-mâché heads resembling their own likenesses into their beds so that night guard would not sound the alarm.
